POSITION TITLE: Quality Control Inspector
Location: Del Rio, TX
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Hire Pay: $17.00- $19.00
Classification: Full-time
 
JOB DESCRIPTION:Assists in the implementation, application, and continual improvement of the Quality System in terms of ISO 9001:2015 compliance, lean concept, customer requirements, and other regulatory requirements for business.
This function is responsible for the assessment of nonconformities, quality controls, software, and process efficiency through inspection and performance evaluation of the enterprise operations. The Quality Specialist maintains records of internal benchmark compliance and effectiveness of actions originated by alpha or beta errors detected in the supply chain network.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participates in the audits of field performance against system standard processes to identify and realize improvement opportunities both in terms of performance compliance and process suitability.
  • Participates in performing internal audits with the Internal Audits team, such as ISO compliance audits and Grid Process Walk audits.
  • Inspection responsibilities. Sampling loading, unloading, and processing functions. This roving inspection function aims to help Operations in the early detection/prevention of non-compliances impacting quality levels.
  • Work closely with each department to define measure, analyze, and establish root cause(s) and implement permanent improvements which yield greater flexibility, lower costs, and improved customer satisfaction.
  • Assists in the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of the Quality System documentation in accordance with ISO requirements and other regulatory bodies governing PT business (e.g. CTPAT) and internal business objectives.
  • Generates reports that assess, diagnose, and measure established systems to meet customer needs and reduce variation.
  • Compiles statistical data and writes narrative reports summarizing quality assurance findings as needed.
  • Participates in the identification and implementation of continual improvement initiatives to enhance the performance of the position, other departments, and the company.
Performs other related projects as assigned by Quality Management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and function well in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Basic computer skills, Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Receives supervision from the Quality Management. Must complete jobs without constant supervision.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS:The principal duties of this position are performed in an indoor environment, with high equipment noise.
 
ALCOHOL AND DRUG TESTING POLICY:This position is subject to pre-employment drug testing. DLP Staffing has a Drug Free Workplace Policy which includes Post-Accident Testing, Random Testing, and/or Reasonable Suspicion Testing.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proven experience as a quality control inspector in the same industry preferred
  • Excellent oral and communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Advanced organizational skills.
  • Excellent presentation and reporting skills
  • Good knowledge of industry products and processes
  • Strong regard for quality assurance according to company standards
  • Proficient in computer word processing and Microsoft Office application
  • Must pass a background check.
